Shifting Perspective — From Mobile to PC
I’ve always considered myself a mobile-first kind of person, but recently I’ve been exploring accessibility features on my Windows laptop — and I’m surprised by how much faster and more comfortable it’s becoming.
I’ve been a mobile-first kind of guy ever since smartphones started gaining popularity. It’s just easier for me to work from a phone or tablet most of the time because of the vision challenges involved. Those devices are simple, focused, and incredibly adaptable once you get your accessibility settings dialed in.
However, lately I’ve been spending more time on my laptop — sometimes connected to a monitor, sometimes not — and it’s working out surprisingly well. As I’ve explored more of Windows’ accessibility settings, I’m realizing there’s quite a bit I can do quickly on this machine, in some cases even faster than on my iPad or iPhone.
That’s brought about an interesting shift in perspective for me. I’ve always focused on mobile tools, but I might start sharing more PC-based tips in the future. We’ll see where it goes. For now, I’m planning to spend the next week using my laptop for all my creative work instead of the iPad and see how that experience shapes up.
